I've never had a permanent tattoo in my life, simply due to indecision. A design that would I would carry for a lifetime? What could be so perfect? What if I regret the tattoo next year? 
When henna came into my life it felt like a perfect fit: limitless design potential, lasting for weeks at a time, made with all natural ingredients. By the time I became bored with my first design it was already washing away, clearing the skin on my hands for the next new masterpiece. It smelled, felt, and looked like home, in a weird way. My henna serves as a momentary reminder that nothing lasts forever, for the better.
